Tom and Jerry were two young orangutans being treated for TB. The FNPF don’t allow unnecessary contact with oranytangs so this was the only time I got to see these animals. The week after I left the camp a clouded leopard attacked and killed them in their cages. This isn’t negligence by the FNPF this is an incredibly rare and shy animal so desperate for food that it has entered an area of human population to feed. This is loss of habitat on an unfathomable scale.
